Priscila and Felix were referred to me through my wedding photographer, Toan (thank you, Toan!). Shortly after our email exchange, we hopped on a Google Hangouts video call to get to know each other more.
Priscila went to UC Berkeley, class of 2011 (GO BEARS!), but met Felix after college. They are both dentists, which probably is why their smiles are full of glow. Even though their families live in the bay area, they moved to Sacramento to live a better life (i.e. bigger house, and less traffic!). I’m glad they made the trek back to the bay area to do their engagement session!
They didn’t have a strong preference on where to do the engagement session, so I offered the following itinerary: Lover’s Lane, Spire by Andy Goldsworthy, Legion of Honor, and Sutro Baths. At Lover’s Lane, I taught the basics of posing and got them to warm up to the camera. Then we drove a few minutes to the Spire, where we learned that they had bulldozed almost the entire area for a reforestation project. Luckily we found some untouched areas with beautiful light. Next, we moved to the Legion of Honor for some architectural photos. We were pleasantly surprised to see that it was not crowded on a Sunday afternoon! And then we ended it with a gorgeous sunset at the Sutro Baths.
Working with Priscila and Felix was very enjoyable! They warmed up quickly and learned how to be a photogenic couple through our engagement session. I can’t wait to see how their wedding photos turn out next year!
