Melissa and Michael flew all the way from Washington to have this engagement session. They are Bay Area natives, but moved to Washington, where Michael works as a mechanic and Melissa an accountant. A minute or two after meeting them face to face, I already knew they were going to be an easy going couple to work with. They had this cool and down to earth vibe that I really love. We were able to easily connect and capture some very natural and beautiful engagement photos!

Rancho San Antonio was actually closed for a few days prior to Melissa and Michael’s photoshoot because of mountain lion sightings! Fortunately, by the time our engagement shoot came, the mountain lion family had moved back to the open space preserve and the trails reopened.

I love shooting at Rancho San Antonio because the sun light there never disappoints! Parking is easy on the weekdays and the fields are very quiet. Depending on which season you go, you will have brown grass fields, or you may have lush bushes. I love how big the place is and all the different trails you can take the couple to to get a diverse set of photos! The only thing is, watch out for the airplane hobbyists! Stay off the flying field to prevent injuries.
