When Erik and Sherrie reached out to me in February 2020, they actually inquired about a date that I had already booked, so I referred them to my trusted buddies, and we kept in touch. Little did we know that the pandemic would throw our schedules into chaos — coincidentally, that actually made our schedules work out!
I was so ecstatic when they told me they would get married in Lake Tahoe’s famous Northstart Resort! I am a frequent traveler to Tahoe (snowboarding!), but shooting a wedding there would be my first. I didn’t hesitate to agree to help Erik and Sherrie.
Several months passed by during the pandemic, and our schedules continued to fluctuate. We push the wedding to 8/28/2021, thinking things would be normal by then. The pandemic started to ease thanks to the vaccines, but another catastrophe threw a wrench into the planning — California Fire Season. Erik and Sherrie literally had no idea if their wedding would still happen, not until the week of the wedding (depending on fire/smoke situation). All the stars aligned somehow, and they held their wedding as planned!
North Star’s Zephyr Lodge is INCREDIBLE. The views are unmatched in every direction. We had the entire mountain to ourselves. You can see how serene the photos look.
The most memorable part of the wedding for me was seeing Erik and Sherrie being so excited about seeing their friends, families, and sharing their love with everyone. I feel truly blessed to have been asked to partake in such a joyous event.
